Risk It Complicated Book 2 edition by Ann Christopher Contemporary Romance eBooks

Hard book to review because there was lots of repetition, too much overthinking, too many assumptions and erroneous beliefs but I enjoyed the characters, the problems each faced and especially, what each person wanted.

A sister learns her that a car accident has resulted in the death of her sister and brother-in-law. Their 3 year old daughter needs a parent. The only other possibility is the child's uncle. There has been attraction between the aunt and uncle, but their lifestyles and beliefs about the other keeps them apart. There is also a grandfather who is too old to keep the child and does not get along with his son. Can each person find his and her way through the tangle to do what is best for everyone, including the child.

I enjoyed this book a lot. It satisfied me while I was reading it despite my frustration with the repetition and assumptions.

Risk It Complicated Book 2 edition by Ann Christopher Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews

I loved this book because it proved that that age is only a number. And it showed that there is more to life than working a prominent job and to be associated with the right people. For once you have to listen to your heart and follow it instead of what society has set for you. Also I love the relationship between father and son and how the son had to prove himself to his father and how his father had to remember that he had a son to love all over again. All in all this book was a very delightful read about losing loved ones and finding new ones.
Ann Christopher is fast becoming one of my favorite authors. The characters were well developed. The story was fleshed out, polished and all around awesome. I will definitely be hunting around for all of the books by this author. I am actually going to call up all my friends and tell them that they should give this book, this author a try. Reading this was an absolute pleasure. My only complaint was that the book had to end. I didn't want to let go of these characters at all!
I really enjoyed reading Justus and Angela's story. It had a little bit of everything that I like. It kept my interest. I liked the way Justus never stopped wanting to connect with Angela, even 10 years later. Although he didn't realize he was in love. His Dad was a piece of work though. Angela was afraid to trust again especially Justus. An unfortunate tragedy brought them together as a family. I'll definitely buy more from this author.
I rarely read books with characters with so much depth and feeling...wow. I loved the honesty from the characters, the healing processes, the edginess of forbidden lust that takes years to flesh out! It also did my heart good to visualize characters that looked like me, loving, fighting, learning and growing. Many romance novels have beautiful descriptive prose, but I don't get to read many with characters of color. I hate to bring that into play, because it might seemingly demean the story, but for the first time in a long time, I FELT things in relation to the characters. I could visualize them in a familiar way. Justus is a 100 % Alpha male, and so is Angela (Alpha female), and that was a great dynamic to read about. I literally hollered "just throw your panties at him, girl!"
Good job Ms. Christopher. I wish I could give it ten stars. You have made a new fan, and I'll be telling my friends about your work. Kudos!
From the moment that Justus and Angela met their chemistry connected me to this story. I was heartbroken when VJ and Carolyn died but with their death came new beginnings for Angela, Justus and Maya and for Justus and Vincent. So many doors opened for love and family commitment and these doors may not have opened if it had not been for tragedy. I liked how Angela stood up to Vincent on Justus' behalf and how Justus stood up to Angela. Although Justus was younger than Angela he was a strong male character and sexy as hell.

I gave this book 4 stars because of some typos but the story was well written. This was a 5 stars novel in content and I totally recommend it.
My first read by Ann Christopher, and I must say I enjoyed Risk. Tragedy has a way of forcing you to grow up and take responsibility for life and the choices you made. I would have given the book a five but there were a few elements that I wanted more of an explanation and answers to questions that were left out that go unresolved. The writing and character development were on point. You felt the emotions of the lead characters Angela and Justus. You knew they were both vulnerable. It was good to see Angela call out their shared insecurities. I really appreciated the incorporation of Maya, such a precious 3 1/2 year old.

I don't want to give the storyline away but Vincent Sr. having his come to Jesus moment with Justus was definitely needed, it's the slap heard around the worlf
I have read this book twice and both times, I finished reading the book, wanting more in the story and the characters. The story is one that I loved a child who needs a home, two lovers who know they belong together but fight it, and a family; however I had a hard time with how slow the story progressed and the tension that wasn't necessary. Ann Christopher is a great author who makes really good stories, I wish that this story had something more.
