Don't Forget to Breathe Volume 1 Ashim Shanker 9780557045532 Books

This is one of those books that uses double speak and fake entendres to attempt to come across as deeply intellectual but is really just wasting your time. Or like Michael Moorcock's Jerry Cornelius series where the later books start contradicting themselves, just for the sake of going to a party where you can tell all the cool cats how deep you are. Or like a guru who says all sorts of pretty and flowery sayings, but actually does not say anything meaningful.

I got the book for free, and over the years, I've waded through, just to see if it gets good, so far no, I feel like I paid $30 too much. It a shame, because there feels like an interesting story and characters are there, but the speech and narrative overwhelm.

Don't Forget to Breathe Volume 1 Ashim Shanker 9780557045532 Books Reviews

This has to a first for me. I won't buy this book solely on the discribtion because Frankly I couldn't understand any of it! I have been escaping and enjoying books for more than 50 yrs, and have never seen anything like this-except in maybe an astrophysics book, but then I actually did understand some of that. Maybe the desccript simply had to many 5 syllable words for me!
In the first novel by author Ashim Shanker, a truly original and thought-provoking tale is told that certainly challenges the reader.
The summary provided for the product should be more than enough prompting for you to pick this book up. Mysterious, humorous, and just plain weird are the first impressions it leaves. The author never takes himself too seriously, throwing things into the mix, seemingly just to make you laugh; however, not every idea presented is a throwaway. If this one doesn't make you think a little, then there is no hope for you, you mindless zombie!
Keep a thesaurus handy because things get somewhat confusing ( at least for my limited intellect ), but the payoff of the story is more than worth any effort you put into it.
The visual picture that is painted by the author is amazin! He needs to meet up with a good artist and adapt this wonder into a graphic novel. Bunnu, O, the Hentai Chefs, the Mumtaz, Coach, Ottoman-13 and the Asoka Plains Detention Facility, all lend themselves so well to the medium.
BUY THIS BOOK, read it, and enjoy as the waters of the Placenta-C wash over you in bliss!
This item is what it was represented to be, and I am most appreciative of the fact that I received what I paid for.
this book is.......hmmmm.......convulted. kinda like a sci fi version of a book that i read years ago about an untouchable. the other book was quite good. this book while humorous tended to waste 2 and 3 pages at a time on thoughts and irrelevancies that could have been done in a single normal sized paragraph. its kinda snobbish. like this guy talks long and above people so that we see how great his mind is. meanwhile during the oohs. and aahs. no one has a clue what the hell he means. or does this snobbery mean that you only want a small selection of readers? P.S. THE END SUCKS.
